Karen Martin is honored to receive the endorsement of CT Against Gun Violence and an “A” grade from the organization in her campaign for State Representative.

“As a gun owner, I believe responsible gun ownership and gun-violence prevention go hand in hand,” Karen said. “We can respect the rights of law-abiding gun owners while taking responsible, practical steps to protect our children, families, and communities.”

CT Against Gun Violence works to make Connecticut communities safer through education, grassroots engagement, public outreach, and legislative advocacy. The organization promotes common-sense gun-violence-prevention policies, safe firearm storage, and evidence-based strategies intended to reduce suicides, domestic violence, accidental shootings, and other firearm-related tragedies.

Karen believes responsible gun ownership includes handling and storing firearms safely, respecting the law, and recognizing the serious responsibility that comes with owning a gun. She also understands that effective public policy requires listening to law-abiding gun owners, public-safety professionals, educators, healthcare providers, and families affected by gun violence.

“This issue should not be driven by fear or division,” Karen said. “It should be guided by responsibility, public safety, and a willingness to work together on practical solutions that can save lives.”

The endorsement and “A” grade reflect CT Against Gun Violence’s confidence that Karen will be a strong advocate for gun-violence prevention in the Connecticut General Assembly.

Karen proudly thanks CT Against Gun Violence for its endorsement and looks forward to working toward a safer East Haven and a safer Connecticut.
